How it works in the nursery - Programme Overview
22/08/2024
- The parent enters the changing room with the child. While helping the child take off their outer clothing and shoes and put on indoor footwear, the parent stays in the changing room. After that, they say goodbye and hand the child over to the guide. If necessary, the parent shares important information about the child's condition—such as their current mood, any changes in the family situation, and when the child will be picked up, etc.
- In the changing room, the child practices independence in dressing, folding and putting away clothes, and changing their shoes.
- Great attention is given to the child's self-care skills in the bathroom. In the kitchen area, the child practices basic table manners, food preparation, and cleaning up. They wash, dry, and put away used dishes.
The largest part of the programme is dedicated to practical activities. Following that, the child is introduced to working with educational materials focused on sensory development and exploring the world around them.
- Children come together for a shared themed programme, which is optional.
- Children explore objects and their functions, learn about plants and observe their growth, and show interest in the lives of animals and humans.
- The child acquires individual skills through independent work and learns to collaborate with these skills. They care for their environment, learn to respect and express themselves, and become familiar with and accept the diverse expressions of their peers in a mixed-age group of boys and girls.
- After dressing independently with the guide's assistance, the children go outside, where they have space for physical activities and exploration of their surroundings. We go outside in all weather conditions.
- After lunch or at the end of the programme, the parent picks up the child at the entrance. We kindly ask for punctuality.
- Parents leave the nursery with their child together. Please move quietly along the corridor. Bicycles and scooters should only be used outside the building.
- Personal or consultation meetings (or insights into the programme) can be arranged individually or twice a year during Parent Meetings.
